The interior dining room is clubhouse-modern that has aged gracefully, wood, neutral tones, big windows facing the golf course and the Blue Ridge to the west. The bar is full-service with a developed wine list (Virginia-leaning but not exclusive), a cocktail program that takes seasonal modifications seriously, and decent draft beer rotation.
The patio is the main event in good weather. Tables on the deck face south and west across the 18th fairway, with the Blue Ridge as the constant background. Sunset from the patio in summer is, no exaggeration, one of the better dinner views in central Virginia. The patio is tented, so it stays open through light rain.
What to order
The menu is American fare in the way the better golf-club restaurants do it, comfortable defaults executed carefully, plus a few chef-driven seasonal items. The standing menu items most regulars order:
- Restoration Caesar Salad ($12), chopped romaine, shaved parmesan, bacon, red onions, cherry tomatoes, brioche croutons, cracked black pepper, Caesar dressing.
- Restoration Burger ($15), 8oz patty, arugula, house burger sauce, tomatoes, pickled onions on a brioche bun with French fries and a pickle spear. Add cheese $1.50, bacon $2.
- Restoration Wings ($15), eight bone-in fried wings tossed in your choice of Bourbon BBQ, Buffalo, Sweet Thai Chili, Garlic Parmesan, or naked with Cajun spices.
