The Crozet Library moves (September 28, 2013)

The Crozet Library was first publicly funded on May 6, 1964, and operated for decades out of the historic 1913 brick depot at The Square.

On September 28, 2013, the library moved to a much larger building at 2020 Library Avenue, anchoring a new mixed-use commercial structure that became known as Piedmont Place. The move was a major civic project: the new library has 69,000+ items, runs about 475 programs per year, and includes meeting rooms, notary services, and 24-hour outdoor pickup lockers.

Piedmont Place itself has since become the village's main downtown dining cluster, housing Smoked Kitchen and Tap, Crozet Creamery, Bar Botanical, and Blue Ridge Bottle Shop.
